Flash Flood — Suffolk, NY

A slow moving cold front approached the area during the evening of October 24th as a wave of low pressure formed along the Mid Atlantic coast. With precipitable water values of 1.75 and higher across the region, this led to heavy rain across much of Long Island, with isolated flash flooding reported in Suffolk County. Numerous reports of 2-4 inches of rain were received across this region, with a CoCoRaHS observer measuring 3.40 inches in Commack.
