Spring time mountain snow melt caused the Similkameen River to achieve Moderate Flood Stage during the second and third week of May. No structures were flooded but a few homes in the river valley suffered yard inundation. The main impacts were extensive field and bottom land flooding in the river valley and the flooding of secondary roads near the river and along Palmer Lake, specifically the Loomis-Oroville Road and Chopaka Road.
