An area of disorganized thunderstorms over southwest Indiana evolved into a line of strong to severe storms as it moved southeast across the Ohio Valley. The storms evolved along the leading edge of outflow winds from an overnight thunderstorm complex. The storms were displaced to the south of the stronger winds aloft, limiting their severe weather potential. A few of the stronger cells produced damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
