Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain developed across the higher terrain of southern Gila County during the evening hours on August 7th. Based on area rainfall reports, peak rain rates ranged between one and two inches per hour and the heavy rain led to a couple of episodes of flooding and flash flooding near the town of Globe.
