Low pressure moving up the spine of the Appalachians resulted in widespread heavy rainfall and reports of flash flooding across portions of southeast New York. A record high precipitable water value of 1.66 inches was recorded on the 12Z sounding from Upton, NY. Rainfall amounts across the region ranged from 1.5 to 4.
