A strong storm system moved out of the Plains into the Great Lakes on the 19th and 20th. Initially the precipitation started as a wintry mix, but accumulations were minor. Warmer air moved into the region through the night, with periods of moderate to heavy rainfall into the afternoon. Rainfall amounts ranged from 1 to 1.5 inches. This rain fell on already saturated soil and led to minor flooding.
