With an upper trough positioned to the west of the region and remaining nearly stationary, multiple upper level disturbances were able to generate several rounds of showers and thunderstorms, extending the active weather period from late April into the first part of May. In addition to severe weather, saturated conditions coupled with heavy rain led to instances of flash flooding as well.
