Flooding occurred across central Indiana due to heavy rainfall. Just as the crest was reaching the Hazleton and Mount Carmel areas on the 27th, rain of one to nearly six inches fell from the evening of the 26th through the night of the 31st in southern Indiana. This additional rain prolonged the extensive flooding.
