A weak low formerly across South Florida slowly progressing towards the NE along with a weak frontal boundary over the region allowed convection to initiate across the region with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Plentiful low-level moisture in place and light steering flow allowed for training and back-building. Heavy rainfall rates associated with these storms/showers lead to flooding of streets across portions of Miami-Dade County.
