Weak upper level disturbances in northwesterly flow aloft combined with a late season stationary front to produce thunderstorms, several with torrential rain, across Cameron and Willacy County. In general 2 to more than 4 inches fell in portions of the area, with an estimated 2 to 3 inches in Harlingen that left numerous roads under a foot or two of water during the afternoon commute.
