Powerful Hurricane Dorian passed 100 miles to the east of Palm Beach County over the northwestern Bahamas. As Dorian tracked very slowly through Abaco and Grand Bahama islands, outer rain bands produced wind gusts of tropical storm force over Southeast Florida, with sustained tropical storm force winds along parts of coastal Palm Beach County. A peak storm surge of 1-2 feet was observed along portions of the Atlantic coast particularly during high tide.
