A strengthening low pressure system tracked from the central Gulf Coast states on Friday March 7th, into the central Appalachians by Saturday morning on March 8th. The low then tracked into northern New England by Saturday evening.||Heavy rainfall developed early Saturday morning, and persisted into Saturday evening. Total rainfall amounts ranged from 1 to 3 inches.||The combination of heavy rainfall, frozen ground, and snowmelt led to flooding across portions of Berkshire county.
