A mesoscale convective system brought scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms that focused across portions of central and eastern Vermont during the morning hours of July 14th. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts were reported. Roads were washed out in Cabot and St. Johnsbury. A mudslide also occurred in St. Johnsbury, affecting a shopping center.
