A stalled front followed by an approaching low pressure area and cold front led to 17 to 21 hours of strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall over portions of central and southern WI. 4 to 6 inches of rain fell in northern Columbia County in the late afternoon into the early evening of August 27th, with additional rain afterward.
