Jul 30, 2020
A stationary frontal boundary triggered several rounds of showers and thunderstorms across central Illinois on July 30th. Rainfall of totals of 3 to 4 inches were reported in many locations south of the I-72 corridor. Due to the excessive rainfall on already saturated soils, isolated flash flooding occurred in rural Shelby County near Cowden where a road was washed out.
