Tropical Storm Eta meandered in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, along with expanding rain bands and lightning activity emanating from it. Scattered showers and storms made their way to the east coast over the course of the day and produced heavy rainfall as deep tropical moisture engulfed the region and clearing skies allowed for instability to grow.
