A slow-moving upper low far northwest of Kauai generated heavy showers and thunderstorms over the isle. The rainfall caused flash flooding in the Hanalei area in the northern part of the island as the Hanalei River overflowed onto Kuhio Highway. Their were no reports of serious injuries. The costs of any damages were not avaiable.
