A frontal boundary south of West Virginia lifted northward and allowed for showers and thunderstorms to develop throughout the day on August 15th. During the late morning, up to 3.5 inches of rainfall fell in Lincoln County and multiple houses were flooded along the Buckeye Fork. Several mudslides also occurred along McCorkle Road and a vehicle was submerged in the town of Sod in Lincoln County.
