Surface high pressure over the southern tip of South FL prompted light low-level westerly flow across the region while a mid-upper level low pressure area moved westward across the FL Straits. This allowed for plenty of moisture to plague the area. Heavy rainfall and rounds of repeated showers and thunderstorms produced flooding across sections of Miami-Dade County.
