Post Tropical Storm Elsa moved along the Downeast coast during the afternoon and evening of the 9th bringing abundant tropical moisture and heavy rains to Downeast areas. Rainfall rates occasionally reached 1.00 to 2.00 inches per hour. Rainfall totals across Downeast areas through the afternoon and evening generally ranged from 2.50 to 4.00 inches...though local totals exceeded 5.00 inches.
