An unnamed creek on the northern side of Fonda overflowed its banks for the second time in a week on Friday, July 23, 2021, after a couple of thunderstorms produced a quick 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in the early afternoon hours. This caused Broadway between Route 5 and Wemple Avenue to close due to an estimated 3 inches of fast-moving water and mud on the road.
