An upper level disturbance passing through the Great Lakes region and the Ohio Valley led to an abundance of moisture streaming into Kentucky on October 8th. An increase in moisture coupled with daytime heating resulted in showers and thunderstorms that crossed through the central portions of the state. The slow moving orientation of these showers and storms caused a few instances of localized flooding in Greenup County, resulting high water flowing up to the first step of local residential home
