Surface high pressure was solidly over central Kentucky, but given the moist atmosphere and temperatures in the 90s, afternoon and evening thunderstorms resulted in a variety of severe thunderstorm damage across central Kentucky. Reports ranged from flash flooding and wind damage to a couple of lightning fires.
