A mid-level trough over the Great Lakes region of the U.S. continued to slide eastward as an associated frontal boundary at the surface approached the FL panhandle. With deep southerly to southwesterly flow in place, rich moisture continued to advect into South Florida. This allowed for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms to develop across interior sections before pushing towards the east coast.
