Deep tropical moisture associated with a mid-upper level disturbance across South FL along with a surface trough between South FL and the Bahamas allowed for widespread showers and thunderstorms with gusty wind, especially along the eastern half of the region and the Atlantic waters. Heavy rainfall caused flooding, at least partially due to already saturated soils from previous heavy rainfall.
