Flash Flood — Miami-Dade, FL

Jan 11, 2022

A cold front in the vicinity of South FL and a series of mid-level impulses promoted instability and thus convection over the nearshore Atlantic waters off the Miami-Dade County coast and right along the coast due to coastal convergence. This combined with lingering moisture and slow storm motion allowed for heavy rainfall and flooding to occur across portions of Miami-Dade County.
