A strong winter storm moved across northwest Indiana on December 11th and 12th, producing snowfall totals generally in the 2 to 4 inch range. As the storm moved east, very strong winds developed causing whiteout and near blizzard conditions, especially in open areas.

Thunderstorms during the early morning hours held a marginal threat for isolated damaging wind and hail but largely were slowly transitioning to heavy rain as individual storms and a squall line merged. Storms became less intense and less organized as the atmosphere stabilized.

Widespread rainfall amounts from 2.5 to 4 inches caused flooding of many county roads. Indiana Route 168 was closed for a time. Several cars were stranded in deep water. Numerous basements were flooded in Princeton. An automobile was swept off State Route 68.
