A band of heavy rain, about 30 miles wide, stretched from the Huntington vicinity on northeast, toward Spencer, Burnsville, and Buckhannon. The rain fell in about a 30 hour period from the predawn hours of the 19th to after dawn on the 20th.

Rains from Friday afternoon, the 14th, into Sunday the 16th were on the order of 3.5 to 4.9 inches, with the maximum over Wayne and Lincoln Counties. Small streams flooded onto roads Saturday evening, the 15th, into early Sunday, the 16th.

Periods of rain began early on the 24th and became heavier overnight into the 25th. Dew points rose into the upper 40s to around 50s. The rain diminished to a few lingering showers with a cold front during the day on the 25th. Rain amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches were common.

Temperatures were in the single digits to below zero at dawn on the 14th. Strong warm advection, north of a warm front in Tennessee, caused snow to develop across southern counties toward sunset. Temperatures in the lowlands were mostly in the lower 20s during the snow.
