Showers out ahead of a cold front moved into the Ohio Valley on the morning of March 6th. This cold front stalled along the western portion of the area during the afternoon, and an axis of showers and a few thunderstorms set up along portions of northeast Kentucky. A warm front then lifted from the south during the evening of March 6th, allowing for additional shower activity as the warm front interacted with the stalled cold front.
