A weak disturbance crossed over northeast Kentucky on July 31st at the same time a warm front migrated northward at the surface. These two features provided the needed support for showers and thunderstorms that developed in the late morning time frame. Flash flooding resulted in Boyd County with blocked roadways and a quick response of local creeks.
