A large area of rainfall slowly progressed east across East Central CO beginning in the late afternoon. The first wave of rainfall included hail up to dime size that was reported north-northwest of Flagler. Rain rates of over two inches per hour were reported near Flagler. Total rainfall was up to four inches. The prolonged torrential rainfall caused flooding in low lying areas over the west half of Kit Carson County, which lasted into the next day.
