To begin the month of August, a passing disturbance sent through a cold front on the afternoon of the 1st. Warm temperatures permeated overhead that day and helped to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms across southeast Ohio. Heavy downpours accompanied these storms, and with previous rain from days prior severely impacting soil conditions, the area was very susceptible to flash flooding. This resulted in one instance of a flooded road within Vinton County.
