Rain and thunderstorms developed on the afternoon of February 16th ahead of a low pressure system and surface cold front. Earlier that morning, a round of thunderstorms swept through eastern Kentucky, priming the area for potential flooding concerns as heavier rain was anticipated heading into the afternoon. By the evening hours, over one to two inches of rain had fallen, contributing to flooding in Greenup County and prolonged flooding around the town of Cannonsburg in Boyd County. Multiple roa
