A mature, very intense derecho moved rapidly east along a stationary front across the Mid Mississippi Valley into the Lower Ohio Valley. Winds along the bowing portion of the derecho weakened significantly before entering southwest Indiana. However, very heavy rain accompanied the system, causing localized flash flooding.
