Flash Flood — Decatur, TN

An upper level disturbance slowly approached the Mid-South during the evening of April 30th, 2010 as a cold front became stationary to the west. This pattern remained in place through the evening hours of May 2nd, 2010. South to southwest winds pumped warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and created a very unstable atmosphere. Tropical Storm

Decatur, TN · Aug 29, 2005

Hurricane Katrina had weakened to a tropical storm when it reached West Tennessee. The front porch of a house was torn off in Covington (Tipton County). A satellite dish was torn from the roof of a house and a camper trailer had some windows broken in Covington as well.

A warm front lifted north across the Mid-South during the morning hours of March 27th. Numerous thunderstorms resulted in heavy rain near the Tennessee/Mississippi line and some flash flooding along with an isolated damaging wind report.
