A widespread bow echo severe thunderstorm event occurred during the evening hours of the 3rd, as a strong upper level disturbance interacted with an unstable airmass and a weak front. The strongest thunderstorms affected the Concho Valley and the Northwest Hill Country and produced a swath of strong winds in excess of 60 mph from San Angelo southeast to Junction.
