Rounds of showers and thunderstorms formed in the weak northwest flow aloft during the late afternoon hours of the 22nd. Rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches in 1 to 2 hours were estimated over parts of Boyd County during the early evening. The heaviest rain appeared to be around Cannonsburg. In Lawrence County the estimated rain maximum was around 2 to 2.5 inches. These downpours caused flash flooding.
