Governor Phil Bredesen has requested a federal designation of agricultural disaster for 22 counties in East and Middle Tennessee to help farmers who suffered agricultural and property damages as a result of recent storms in September and October. The results from the remnants of Frances and Ivan, which brought high winds and heavy rains, took a toll on the farmers.The counties in Middle Tennessee affected are Cannon, Giles, Lawrence, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Rutherford, Sequatchie and Wayne.
