Flash Flood — Perkins, SD

Jun 11, 1997

Excessive rain of four to eight inches fell during the overnight and early morning hours over southeast Perkins and northern Ziebach counties; as a result, numerous creeks and the Moreau river overflowed their banks. Sections of Highway 73 and other secondary roads had be closed temporarily due to water flowing over them. Two culverts northwest and west of Usta and three bridges over Deer Creek were washed out.
