A warm and humid air mass was in place across eastern Iowa on August 28, 2016.|Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed during the|afternoon and continued into the evening hours. These showers and thunderstorms were nearly stationary and produced heavy rainfall. This rain caused some flash flooding in Lousia and Washington Counties. The places that did receive rainfall reported 3 to 6 inches.
