Warming temperatures in June brought rapid snow melt of mountain snow pack and led to flooding around portions of Sublette County, especially along the New Fork and Green Rivers as well as some of it's tributaries. Several low lying BLM roads were damaged or washed out during the flooding, with some roads having over 2 feet of water on them. In addition, many low lying areas had several days of flooding. Heavy rainfall in Hoback Canyon caused at least nine mud and rock slides which subsequently closed U.S. Highway 191 around the Sublette-Teton county line. Crews worked for about seven hours to clear the slides which averaged three to five feet deep.

Flash Flood4 deaths

Carbon, WY · Jul 19, 2011

Debris carried down by runoff from heavy rainfall clogged a drainage culvert on a small section of Highway 130, resulting in the water washing away the pavement around the culvert shortly after midnight on July 19.
