Flash Flood — Vanderburgh, IN

Feb 12, 2020

A deep 500 mb trough over the southwestern states lifted northeast across the central states. A surface low passed east across the lower Mississippi Valley, producing a swath of heavy rain across the lower Ohio Valley. A plume of very moist air aloft accompanied the upper-level trough as it lifted northeast. Although rainfall amounts were not especially heavy, they fell on very moist ground that was primed for flooding issues.
