Scattered thunderstorms increased during the warmth of the afternoon. The storms developed immediately ahead of a rather deep surface low over the lower Ohio Valley. A 500 mb low and its associated cold temperatures aloft promoted isolated large hail with the strongest storm. A cold air funnel cloud briefly touched down.
