General 3 to 4 inch rainfall fell across the five counties during the mid afternoon period, resulting in widespread flash flooding that continued into the evening period. The heaviest rain fell in Karnes County, with isolated totals to near 11 inches.

Heavy rain redeveloped from eastern Edwards and Real Counties into western Bandera and Kerr Counties near midnight on the 2nd. General rainfall totals were only 1 to 2 inches. However, isolated amounts up to 5 inches were indicated between Rocksprings and Leakey.

Tropical Storm Charley made landfall on the middle Texas coast during the morning on August 22nd. Luckily, damage was minimal across the area, with beach erosion accounting for the damage estimates. Tides ran 2-3 feet above predicted astronomical levels.
