A warm front lifted north through West Virginia on the 3rd with a half inch to an inch of rain over the central mountain counties. Less rain fell elsewhere. Late afternoon and evening temperatures rose into the 50s and lower 60s over the lowlands.

Kanawha, WV · Mar 13, 2015

A large land slide occurred on the 12th at the end of the main runway at Yeager Airport. The slide was part of a large man-made land fill project that extended the hill side. That project was completed in 2007. The vertical rise of that land fill was about 240 feet.
